Dr.Yogesh Agarwal is graduate (1983) and a postgraduate (1987) from J.N.Medical College , Aligarh. Thereafter he worked as a registrar at same hospital and later at Lady Hardinge Medical College , New Delhi.
In 1991 – 1992 he underwent an extensive training in Laparoscopic Surgery at Singapore and Japan. He did a fellowship in Minimal Invasive Surgery from Kieo University , Tokyo Japan.
He had an opportunity to work with famous surgeons in United States of America Dr.Michael Gagner ( Bariatric Surgery Observership ) and Dr.Barry Salky at Mt.Sinai Medical Centre , New York especially in Laparoscopic surgery for GERD and Morbid Obesity.
Since 1993 he is into active surgical practice. Now his main interest and focus area is Minimal Invasive surgery.
He is a member of a number of surgical associations both nationally and internationally. He is the founder member of Gasless International an organization of MIS surgeons based in Japan.
He is presently secretary of East Delhi Surgeon’s Forum.
He has been an invited faculty in over a hundred conferences and workshops on Laparoscopic Surgery.
He is on the faculty of ETHICON INSTITUTE OF SURGICAL EDUCATION at Delhi for Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery training. He has over a dozen papers and publications in national and international journals. He has trained 38 surgeons in the art and science of minimal access surgery.
Have developed a very active and structured Bariatric Surgery Programme at group hospitals in Delhi & NCR . Recently organized a national conference on “ Metabolic Surgery for Diabetes and Morbid Obesity “ which was attended by over 300 delegates .
Presently he is working as a Head Department of Surgery , Minimal Access Surgery & Bariatric Surgery Centre at Fortis Hospital.
